Veterinary Surgeon: Orthopaedics & Soft Tissue (Specialist or Residency-trained)
Full time over a 4-day week · Linton, just outside Cambridge
Procedure
We’re recruiting one surgeon, Specialist or residency-trained, to join a team of three: two soft tissue surgeons and one who splits their time between orthopaedics and soft tissue.
Indication
Our surgical caseload is growing, and we want to keep giving every case the time it deserves.
Pre-op assessment (is this you?)
Your focus is orthopaedics, but you’re happy to get stuck into soft tissue too. If TPLOs in the morning and a laparotomy after lunch sounds like a good day rather than a scheduling error, read on.
- You’re an RCVS or EBVS Specialist, board-eligible or residency-trained.
- You leave your ego at the scrub-room door, with colleagues and with referring vets alike.
- You like people as well as animals, enjoy some office chat
- You have the right to live and work in the UK.
Approach
We’re an independent, vet-owned referral hospital that opened in 2024. We’re small enough that everyone knows everyone, and big enough to take on the complicated cases. Clinicians make the clinical decisions here. There’s no head office.
Findings
- A full-time role over 4 days. Your fifth day is actually yours.
- Weekend on-call 1 in 4, shared evenly across the surgical team.
- Specialist-led anaesthesia with dedicated anaesthesia nurses.
- CT and MRI on site, with board-certified imagers to discuss your cases with.
- Specialist colleagues under the same roof, from neurology and internal medicine to oncology, cardiology and dermatology, so tricky cases get a proper team.
- Room to grow. If there’s a service you’d like to build, we’d love to hear about it.
Closure
- Competitive salary
- Generous CPD allowance
- Pension and private healthcare
- Relocation support if you’re moving to the area
