Cambridge Night Vets – Granta Veterinary Specialists

Location: Linton, Cambridgeshire (near Cambridge)
Service: Cambridge Night Vets – Out-of-Hours

Granta Veterinary Specialists is looking for an ECC Veterinary Surgeon to join the Cambridge Night Vets team, our out-of-hours service based within our multidisciplinary referral hospital.

This role combines first opinion emergency consultations with the oversight of referral inpatients, giving a varied and interesting caseload overnight.

Two vets on the evening shift to manage peak caseload

RVN and PCA support overnight

In house Specialist colleagues across medicine, surgery, anaesthesia and neurology

A mix of GP emergencies and referral inpatients

A predictable rolling rota designed to support work–life balance

The role

You will be responsible for:

Assessing and managing emergency presentations from subscribing practices

Stabilising and treating urgent and critical patients

Monitoring and managing referral inpatients overnight

Working closely with the night nursing team and on-call specialist team

Providing clear clinical records and handover to daytime teams

About you

We are looking for a vet who:

Has experience in ECC or emergency practice

Is confident managing urgent and critical cases

Works well within a team and communicates clearly

Enjoys the pace and variety of night work

ECC certificate holders are welcome but not essential.
