Principles of fracture repair and bone healing: When simple is not so simple

This session has now passed. Please sign up to our mailing list for details of upcoming CPD events.

A free online CPD evening for vets and vet nurses. Wednesday 1 July 2026, 19.30.

About the session

Some fractures look straightforward on the radiograph. Fewer of them behave that way under repair.

Alberto Sesana, Specialist in Small Animal Surgery, takes us through the principles of fracture repair and bone healing, including where seemingly simple cases turn complicated and what that means for decisions in practice.

CPD will be aimed at vets but RVNs with special interest in surgical technique and bone healing absolutely welcome.

About the speaker

Alberto Sesana DVM DipECVS MRCVS joined Granta’s orthopaedic service in 2025 and recently passed his ECVS board examinations. He is a Specialist in Small Animal Surgery.
