At Cambridge Night Vets, you’ll do more than “just nights”.

You’ll care for emergency cases from our subscribing first opinion practices, and you’ll also oversee inpatients from our referral hospital. That means a mix of triage, stabilisation, critical care, and exposure to specialist-level cases you wouldn’t normally see in a standard OOH role.

• Always two vets on each evening – to manage any flurries of evening consults.
• Exposure to both first opinion and referral-level cases
• Specialist back-up available 24/7 – medicine, surgery, anaesthesia, neurology – real support.
• Predictable rolling rota (over four weeks) for work–life balance.
• A team that takes its work seriously – but has a sense of humour.

What we’re looking for:

• ECC certificate holders or experienced ECC vets (ideal, not essential).
• Confidence when sole-charge is needed, with nurse support.
• Someone who communicates clearly, stays calm under pressure, and maybe even cracks a joke at 2am.
